We often get asked if you can send a Bonjoro video via SMS instead of email.

The answer is yes, but with a caveat:

Your video has to have been delivered to your customer's email first, before we can trigger an SMS send.

N.B. This workflow requires using Zapier to send your video via an SMS service like Twilio or Clicksend. So you will need a subscription to Zapier and an SMS sending service.

Here's how it works:

  1. Your get a new lead or customer. You capture their name, email, phone number.

  2. You send a Bonjoro video to their email as normal from the Bonjoro Tasklist.

  3. Your Zap will send the same video as an SMS to the customer's phone number.

This gives your Bonjoro video another chance to get seen via text message. We find this works great for charities sending thank-you videos to donors, and eCommerce stores sending thank-you videos to buyers, but there's lots of other great use-cases too.

Here's how to set it up:

  1. Head into Zapier.

  2. Create a Zap with "Bonjoro sent" as your trigger event

  3. Select your SMS service for the action event.

Then connect your SMS account and fill in the relevant fields under "Configure". Here's how it should look once complete.

Two very important points:

  1. You will need to pass the customer's number into Bonjoro so that it can be used as the "To Number". As we do not have a field for "Profile's phone number", we recommend passing your customer's phone number into the"Bonjoro Profiles Last Name" field, so that Zapier can see it and use it each time you send a Bonjoro video.

  2. Ignore the Media URL field. Just click the little "+" button next to the Message field and select "Bonjoro URL" to insert your Bonjoro video URL into your SMS message.

That's it. Once you're completed the configuration, just activate your Zap.

The next time you send a Bonjoro video from your Tasklist, your Zap will trigger, and your customer will receive your SMS message with your Bonjoro video.
