Welcome to lesson 2:

I want you getting incredible engagement on your Bonjoros. So let's talk about content.

Even though personal video has a definite "wow!" factor, to get the very best results for your business, you need to focus your message on a specific outcome you are looking to achieve.

Let's look at two great examples.

Welcome video + next steps

Check out this great example by Alex, on the Customer Success team at Design Pickle. He provides all the information the recipient needs, and specifically directs them to take the next action.

Top Tip: Mention their name and have a clear "ask" in your message to successfully drive action. You have probably heard your favourite YouTuber asking you to "like and subscribe" because it actually works.

Thank you video + call to action

In this message from Tim from Lake Wenatchee YMCA, Tim makes a heartfelt thank you to his donors, and includes a relevant "call to action" alongside the video.

The message that appears alongside the video gives clear direction:

  • "Thanks for your support of camp" [Intro and context]

  • "See what you helped make possible" [Hook]

  • "View the summer camp video" [CTA]

Action Point: Refine your messaging

Remember we created a branded message template in lesson one?

Here's a few tips to help you refine your Bonjoro message templates:

Craft an intro that explains the context of your video.

Add a hook that hints at what's inside your video.

Add a call to action, so they know what to do next.

Try setting up a few message templates, and focus on refining your messaging.

Next lesson we'll look at measuring results and ensuring you maximising your opens, views and actions.
